Adrienne Franklin

Adrienne Franklin is a self-taught knitter who has been knitting for over 15 years. She started by making dish cloths, hats, sweaters and toys for her newborn great-grandchildren but it was making toys for them that she found particularly enjoyable.

She knitted her first 'little lady doll' in 2015 after her grown-up daughter requested one; it was then that creativity struck. In her own words, 'I was so captured by this gorgeous little doll that I thought she would stand up and walk, and I was having so much fun! Needless to saym, I have not stopped knitting my gorgeous little dolls.'

She continues to handmake each doll in the same way – with love – and she enjoys every step of the process. From design to creation, she ensures they are modern, decorative, sassy and stylish. Whether it's giving them uniquely coloured, styleable hair or bespoke eye or nail colouring, each one is a unique and intriguing conversation piece that takes around two weeks to complete.
