Brandi Cheyenne Harper
Brandi Cheyenne Harper is a knitwear designer, pattern developer, photographer, ceramicist and teacher living in Brooklyn, New York, USA. She taught herself to crochet at 14 and next learned to knit, something that in her own words 'filled my heart with so much joy'. She began working in a yarn shop aged 16 after her mother pointed out that at $10 for a single ball of yarn, she'd need to get a job to fund her hobby.
Her first self published pattern was released in 2017 and since then her work has appeared in Kit Wit, Knit Simple and Vogue Knitting Magazine. She's produced designs in collaboration with Purl Soho and A Verb For Keeping Warm and taught at a number of local yarn shops and fibre events across the US including Vogue Knitting Live.
As Brandi herself says, 'I feel incredibly blessed to have worked closely with small businesses and governmental orgs to bring knitting to my communities as an empowerment tool and a form of mindful meditation.' Her self published patterns can be found on her website and in the Brandi Harper Pattern Store on Ravelry.
