Hand Knit Designer
Michelle Grace
As a child Michelle Grace was taught to knit by her grandmother.
At high school she was easily bored and tried but failed to design her own 1980s oversized style sweater; this caused her to put her needles down, but the creative urge remained.
It was whilst pregnant with her daughter in 2005 that she started knitting again, becoming serious enough about learning the craft that she signed up to classes both online and at local yarn shops.
Despite still working full-time as a software architect Michelle uses knitting as a stress reliever and her path to designing has grown from her architecture background. Through her designs produced under the name Knitdraper she focuses on the creation of high-quality patterns for small accessories such as scarves and shawls.
Her patterns are available in PDF format from Loveknitting and her pattern store on Ravelry
