Thomas Hamilton

Thomas Hamilton is the crochet designer behind the Gregory Stitch label based in Atlanta and New York, USA.

Having trained as a professional dancer and actor he uses his experience in the performing arts as inspiration for his designs and this gives them a bold, theatrical feel. He began crocheting in 2013 following his mother's death and loves 'pushing the envelope' when it comes to designing, seeing it as a way to show the world that crochet is much more than pot holders, blankets and place mats. Rather than being the 'lesser craft' it can also be very high end.

He's worked in collaboration with several yarn companies on a series of 'one off' pieces some of which were recently showcased in the Kaleidoscope Fashion Show at this year's Vogue Knitting Live!, New York.

Aside from designing he creates tutorials for crafters wanting to learn new crochet techniques which can be seen on his YouTube channel.
